July'21: Summer salons, speculative ideologies & machinic interfiction for The Indifference Engine

Sweeping Statements ::: Janitorial Revue

Dear fellow discourse lovers,

We hope the summer is treating you well, wherever you are. We’ve mostly been on vacation and developing new projects for the past few weeks so here follows a briefer-than-usual rundown of 0x Salon activities. Get in touch (the0xsalon [at] gmail [dot] com) if you’d like to get involved in any of the below projects, or complete the Salon Participation Request Form to register your interest in attending an upcoming discussion.

Berlin Salon Program @ Trust Resumes with 0x005 Topic Launch
We held the long-delayed topic kickoff for 0x005 The Indifference Engine at our spiritual home Trust recently, and it was a blast seeing everyone in the same room again. It’s been too long!

We hope to continue with IRL events until circumstances dictate otherwise, and then flip back to digital. Next up is a one-off session on Viral Realism in August. Rumours are also beginning to circle about salons in other cities…

Manifesto Destiny: A Speculative Scripture for Machine Supremacists
A new offshoot of the salon named R&D Labs is developing a hypothetical ideological document entitled “The Necroprimitivist Manifesto” for proof-of-work acolytes. The manifesto aims to ‘steel man’ a provocation from the pro-capital / anti-ecology position. More to follow.

The Bitlerian Jihad: An Interfictional Exploration of Human-Machine Tension
Now for something a little different. A few salon friends are working on a short story based on journalistic investigations into nomadic cycles, regulatory currents and other heterogeneities inherent in mined cryptocurrencies.

Get involved in the 0x Salon!
As always, we welcome participation from the wider community in our conversations, creative projects and reportage. If any of you dear readers and salon friends want to get involved - we try to make it fun and you will get full attribution - please get in touch (the0xsalon [at] gmail [dot] com). You’ll be directly helping us redirect our attention to organising events, and you’ll also be given priority access to the now very oversubscribed attendance spots at the salons themselves.
